Instrument Pilot Training

Fly IFR (Instrument Flight Rules)! The Instrument Rating will expand the flying privileges of your pilot’s license and help you become a safer and much more proficient pilot in the process. If you’re a Private Pilot an Instrument Rating will help you tackle marginal weather and get in or out of airports safely. If you’re a Commercial Pilot an Instrument Rating is a must if you want to have a career in aviation. Getting you Instrument rating takes your flying skills to the next level and makes you a more confident pilot.

Requirements

In order to begin training for your Instrument Rating at wind Sock Aviation, you must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age and hold a Private Pilot’s License
  • Have a Class 3 medical certificate
  • Be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language.

Aeronautical Knowledge

  • Must have 15 Hours dual instruction with a CFI-I
  • 25 hours of flight time with at least a PPL safety pilot while you practice your approaches and flying in simulated IFR conditions
  • 50 hours of cross country time as PIC
  • Pass the FAA Instrument Knowledge Exam
  • Pass the FAA Practical Exam
